What I don't understand is: on my phone k9 works just fine with gmail. What is 
the difference that causes it to break for some and not for others. I am using 
the current beta of K9 on Android 9 using OmniRom on a Moto G5. Which is a wild 
combination. ...and I use 2-factor authentication. Which is a wild combination 
I would have not been surprised it it broke...
