Heya. Some answers inline:

Yes, any user can change the Network Name right now,
just like any user can change the name of any device in the
GUI. That's okay. Long term, I might change it so that, as
you suggest, only the Master Node can make such changes. But
for now it's okay.

You should tell Igor about this. :) We went thru this
stuff extensively back in October:

http://www.mail-archive.com/kaboodle-devel%40lists.sourceforge.net/msg00551.html

As you understand, there should be exactly one Master
Node on the LAN at any time. And if it's changed anywhere on
the LAN, that change should propogate everywhere on the LAN.

As for the bug you're looking into, my concern is
primarily at *initial startup*. That is, the very first time
Kaboodle is run on a LAN. Right now, everyone is getting "My
Network". If the user doesn't change that, then when they VPN
with each other, *both* networks read "My Network" in the list
of connected LANs. Pretty confusing.

So Bug#1 is all about the *initial* setting. If it
gets changed after that, even if the user changes it to "My
Network", it's okay.
