Scott and all,

As per our previous discussions I am now using the widows echoserver and the fqdn for it maps to a dynamic ip. I see that when the echoserver authenticates it then drops the name of the proxy server and just stores the ip address. It looks like it stores it in the registry, and then retrieves it on next startup.

This leads me to several questions:

1) If my IP address changes, even though my dynamic dns client from no-ip.com adjusts for that, I don't see that kaboodle would be able to pick this up, since I don't see it storing the server name?

2) Am I correct that kaboodle is not storing the server name, and that this would be a problem? I'm thinking that if the IP changes, me and my customers would have to delete the proxy server, and then add it back in again.

3) If I am correct on the above, is it something that could be changed in kaboodle?

4) In any event, is there a way that I could preconfigure the kaboodle install - to send to a customer with the proxy server name and/or ip address already added?
If it read from a config file I could change the config file. If I have to write to the registry, then I could figure out how to do that programmatically.. don't know how but obviously there must be a way.

5) If I am correct on all the above and it kaboodle can't be readily modified in this area, it seems to me that I will have to get a static IP address for my echoserver in order to not have to keep changing the proxy?

Thanks!
