Heyaz. With a little more than 3 years of effort behind
it, I am very pleased to announce that the 1.0 release of Kaboodle
is now available for download.
In this version of our network management utility, you
can expect:
* a wholly redesigned GUI; icons, buttons, menus, the works.
* A "print" capability is now supported, to obtain hardcopies
of your network topology.
* A "save and restore" capability of your network settings is
now supported.
* A number of bugs have been addressed related to VNC initiation,
remote control, initial startup, and LAN-to-LAN connections.
* The echoWare/KaboodleProxy interface for "firewall friendly"
LAN-to-LAN connections has been re-tuned to work with the
latest releases of echoWare and echoServer.
Two quick release notes:
1. The WinPcap-based "passive network detection" has been
temporarily disabled in this release while we chase down
a bug related to it. Expect that repair in the 1.1 release.
2. The same echoWare technology that enables Kaboodle's "firewall
friendly" LAN-to-LAN connections is used to enable PC-to-PC
connections in our recently introduced "EchoVNC" software.
