Hi Scott

Any news on Direct connection? I had an email from someone else who's reproduced the same problem, so it can't be something I'm doing wrong.

Just to recap. It seems that Kaboodle ignores that fact that it is connected in this way and then tells me it wasn't able to connect.

Regards

I'm sorry, I thought I wrote back. I'm not seeing exactly
what you're seeing, but I did find something wrong with
"direct mode" connections that needs to be fixed in the 1.03
release. I'm hoping to get that release out in July.

      Sorry for the hassle.

Nope, doesn't sound like you're doing anything wrong. :)
Let me see if I can reproduce that error here (all of my GetEngaged
connections have been proxied ones, since the 1.01 release).

cheers,
Scott

Hi

What a great program - available for free!

I've got Kaboodle working fine with the demo kaboodle proxy server, but I have difficulties with a direct connection.

Without a firewall in operation (or with for that matter with the ports set to be allowed as in the FAQ) and with port forwarding with default zebedee ports set to the correct ip address of the Kaboodle node computer:

I connect to selected GetEngaged partner that works with the Kaboodle Proxy server and enter the ip address with and without the zebedee port (11965) and what happens is that I get a message 'Direct connection to partner xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx' which doesn't allow me to do anything while it is displaying. However if I have selected the network I am wanting to connect to in the known networks list and have moved the 'GetEngaged Personal VPN' dialog box so that the Kaboodle window is fully visible, I can see the connection has happened and I can see the computers in that network's tab. Then I get the message "Sorry... no GetEngaged connection could be made to user......".

BUT, if I cancel the dialog and then click on the other network name I can see the message "No active connection to .... Last connected with on: at XX:XX:[EMAIL PROTECTED]" XX:XX:XX is the time the connection I saw was being made!!! However it was cancelled before I could get access to it!

Is there anything I could be doing wrong?

Regards

Jeff Cole
