Hi Scott

I have had the same problem without a 1394 interface on my laptop at all, but uninstalling WinPcap has solved the problem of crashing Kaboodle during network discovery.

Yes, some users have been able to disable the 1394 interface
in WinXP such that WinPcap would work correctly with Kaboodle. If
you determine a workable solution...please post it! It's been one
of those poltergeist bugs I'd love to have a workaround for.

cheers,
Scott

Thanks, Scott - you nailed it!

But now I can't run Ethereal :-(

I don't use any 1394 interface - could I disable that port and re-install
WinPCap?
