one of the outstanding big merges was pulling the BeKaffe source back into the kaffe.org main tree. I've browsed the kaffe.org mailing list archives, and according to http://www.kaffe.org/pipermail/kaffe/2001-June/026341.html
Tomaso> It won't require great changes to the current CVS source base, Tomaso> we have been a nice project living in separate BeOS directories :-) Tomaso> The only shared changes that come to mind is the addition of two Tomaso> unharmful lines into the configure.in and ltconfig scripts.
Judging by http://www.kaffe.org/pipermail/kaffe/2001-June/026345.html the developers have met cleanroom conditions and stayed away from Sun's sources, which makes a merge possible.
Off list, I had a conversation going with Bernd T. Korz, from YellowTab. They would be interested in seing a current version of kaffe on their platform. Given that a patch exists [1] to allow open office builds to use kaffe, and they want to port openoffice to their platform, kaffe could help bring OpenOffice to Zeta faster.
So my question is quite simple: are there any BeKaffe developers left who would be interested in the merge, or could assist in some way?
cheers, dalibor topic
