I am trying to cross-compile kaffe for a Monte Vista hardhat linux
powerpc platform from my redhat 9 i686 machine.
The target board is a (somewhat rare) DNA VQG4 VME board. Monte Vista sells some kind of java for their OS, but it is all subscriptionfees, etc. so I thought I would take a shot at compiling kaffe. Well, I have read the cross-compiling FAQ and have followed the directions as far as making and installing the kaffe-native, etc. but when I try to configure in my kaffe-powerpc-linux directory the configure script runs for a while and then reports
checking for in_port_t... no configure: error: cannot run test program while cross compiling See `config.log' for more details.
I get no makefile or anything.
The config.log file is quite long, etc. and I am in a bit over my head here but I am concerned about where configure is looking for headers, etc.
I tried setting the ac_cv_sizeof vars in the powerpc-linux config.frag, but I got the same error.
Anyway, I don't know how outdated the cross-compiling FAQ is, etc. If anyone has recently had success cross-compiling, please let me know.
thanks, [EMAIL PROTECTED] jim preston
