There is a separate port to MS-DOS (of an older version of kaffe) available at
http://www.openje.org/kaffepc . There is also a related effort here: http://www.ci.tuwien.ac.at/~grill/kaffe/ .
It would be great if someone actually wanting to use kaffe on FreeDOS would volunteer to do the merge. Otherwise, chances are it will never get done ;(
