Is it possible to invoke the interpreter execution
engine in the Jit3? For example, for a particular
method I want the interpreter mode of kaffe to execute
rather than the jit3.

that's currently not possible, unfortunately, as there is no mixed-mode engine in kaffe. A patch exists, and help to finish it would be very welcome. See http://www.flux.utah.edu/~tullmann/kaffe/jitintrp/ for details. I've CC:ed Senthil, the author of the patch.
