What is the purpose of readDefaultObject/writeDefaultObject? I don't see what they can do that can't be done by readObject/writeObject in a Serializable class, given that we fix ObjectInput so that it always calls readObject if it exists, which is what Sun does. -- Debian GNU/Linux 2.1 is out!
