Hmmm it looks like BQS was less strict with jobnames than GE!
Some kind of JobNameSanitizer may be required...

Bug description:
qsub rejects the format of the date when the $Date symbol is used in the
"Batch Name Format" box of KaliVedaGUI (symbol proposed in
KVDataAnalyser::ExpandAutoBatchName(...) documentation).
The process returns:
