Financial Services Board (IFSB).
There are three must-attend events
that are scheduled prior to the Summit on 3 May 2010. The Pre Summit Events
will be held at the The-Ritz- Carlton, Bahrain Hotel & Spa and are free
of charge.
A Public Hearing is held within the
Public Consultation period of a proposed draft standard, and is part of the due
process in the preparation of IFSB standards. This Public Hearing will be on
the
IFSB Exposure Draft 11: Standard On Solvency
Requirements For Takaful (Islamic Insurance) Undertakings. The Exposure
Draft can be downloaded from the IFSB website at www.ifsb.org
The Country Showcase is a platform
for selected IFSB member countries to portray their Islamic finance initiatives
and esperiences in adopting and promoting the growth
of a sound and stable Islamic financial services industry.
Previous Country Showcases were held
in Singapore (2009),
Amman (2008) and Dubai (2007). This event will assist investors,
top executives, senior managers, financial industry players, researchers and
academics in understanding the respective country’s policies, initiatives and
incentives. It may also be an opportunity for networking and opening doors to
potential investments and business partnerships.
