Add '7700' Shari'ah Supervisory Board and Board of Directors and Islamic Banks Performance Importance: High Dear Professor Kantakji and the rest of the Blog members, I am working on the relation that governs the Shari’ah Supervisory Board (SSB) and the Board of Directors (BOD) and their effects on the Islamic Banks performance. Given the regulated relation between the SSB and the BOD, most academic, practitioners and educational literature mention the importance of the SSBs and their religious aspects in issuing religious rules and inspect compliance issues. A question arise from the latter and that is, if the SSBs are recommended in the general assembly meeting of the company and is appointed by the BOD. What happens when the SSB keeps on rejecting different proposals? Would that endanger the SSB members because they are appointed and working for the BOD?
