T he Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB) is organising its* 11th Annual Summit* on *21 and 22 May 2014* in Mauritius which Bank of Mauritius is privileged to host. The theme of this 2014 Summit will be *"New Markets and Frontiers for Islamic Finance: Innovation and the Regulatory Perimeter"*. The topics of discussion will cover the opportunities, challenges and key success factors for new and emerging Islamic finance jurisdictions to grow and develop the Islamic financial services industry as well as the role of Islamic finance in supporting long-term growth strategies and infrastructure needs and promoting economic development. The topics will also explore some recent innovations that are driving inclusive growth, while examining different policy and regulatory approaches to manage attendant risks. Some recent initiatives and ongoing challenges in enhancing legal, regulatory, and *Shari`ah* governance frameworks in new jurisdictions will also be a key areas of focus.
