I was just wondering why rules.cml and symbols.cml are read only, even for owner. I see how you don't want people to mess with these without knowing what they are doing, but still, nearly every file in the kernel could be as easily screwed up. It doesn't seem like a good practice, despite chmod 644 quickly fixing it.
