When running make menuconfig in an xterm, the configurator can be made to
crash by decreasing the size of the xterm window. It seems to be segfaulting.

The crash can be reproduced reliably on my machine by decreasing the size of
the xterm window while viewing the help of a second-level menu item or
deeper. It does not crash if the resize is smaller than a few steps.

I have been unable to crash it by increasing the xterm size.

I have been unable to crash it on any other screens than the help of at least
second-level items. That is, the help screen of menuconfig itself seems
crash-proof, but all other help screens I have tried it with have been
crashable.

This behaviour is the same on both xterm (XFree86 4.2.99.903(174)) and rxvt
v2.7.10.

I have been unable to reproduce the crash in the Linux 2.4.23 menuconfig.

The screen is cleared when crashing, and the following is displayed:
interrupted(11)
make[1]: *** [menuconfig] Error 1
make: *** [menuconfig] Error 2

I am running Slackware current (completely up-to-date as of Dec 8th 2003).
Please contact me if you need more information.

  Örjan Smith
