i'm curious why Kconfig menu entries can't have some associated help text. if i start in "make menuconfig", and i'm looking at the very first:
Code maturity level options --> i might ask myself, "hmmm ... i wonder what that means and whether i even care what's under there." but if i select help, i get this generic, overall help screen about how configuration works in general. useful, of course, but it doesn't help explaining what code maturity means. now, of course, if i select that menu, i can certainly get help on its *component* sub-entries, but that means there's absolutely no place to get help info on any menu entry anywhere in the entire config process, which i think would be useful. it seems that a lot of potential help real estate is being wasted by not allowing menu entries to have their own help text. thoughts? rday ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: IT Product Guide on ITManagersJournal Use IT products in your business?
