SUMMARY

Plasmashell crashes when trying to open the "add or manage applet" (widget?)
panel, when customizing desktop.

This happens after system update recently -- though I haven't updated it for a
few (~4) months, nor can confirm this does not exist in the latest system
versions I've been using.
I can confirm this used to work correctly, at least in early last year (2025).

I have some applets that are not compatible with the current plasma version; I
also have some applets that did not show up in the list (when it could be
shown).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Right click the desktop (or panel)
2. Go to "enter management mode"
3. Click "add or manage applets" in the top bar
4. The applet list panel background shows
5. It stuck, and soon plasma crashes

OBSERVED RESULT

- The panel stuck at only showing the basic backbone
- Plasmashell crashes

EXPECTED RESULT

- The panel opens and shows all applets that it can identify
- Plasmashell won't crash
