selected.
SUMMARY
CTRL-click on layer thumbnail in order to select layer contents causes layer
above current layer to be made active, when "Show Global Selection Mask" is
enabled.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Make sure "Selection/Show Global Selection Mask" is checked.
2. Ensure that no mask is active (i.e. Global Selection Mask layer is not
shown)
3. Create several layers. Paint on one of the lower layers to provide something
for the mask
4. CTRL-click on layer thumbnail in order to create a selection mask of the
contents of that layer
OBSERVED RESULT
When the Global Mask layer is created at the top of the stack, it bumps the
stack down one layer, causing the selection click to be registered on the layer
above the current one. This results in both layers being selected, as indicated
by the checkmark. Sometimes I've observed that ONLY the layer above is selected
and the original (desired) layer is unselected, but I can't reproduce this
reliably. This is not key bounce because it acts the same with mouse or Wacom
tablet.
EXPECTED RESULT
Only the layer I'm working on, that I have intentionally chosen, should be
active or selected. Selecting non-transparent areas in the working layer should
not result in other layers being selected.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This report could have gone in "Tools/Selection" because it's somewhat related,
but it looks more like a problem of the layers being bumped down in the middle
of the selection click.
