Bug ID: 518759
Summary: Dolphin freezes for a really long time after trying to
connect to an SMB mounted drive that has been
disconnected.
Classification: Applications
Product: dolphin
Version First 25.12.3
Reported In:
Platform: EndeavourOS
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR

Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
I have wireguard that i constantly turn on and off to connect to another
building, in that building I have an SMB network. I have the SMB network drive
mounted as a network drive on my Linux, and it works fine, but when I
disconnect Wireguard, Dolphin does not show that it has been disconnected in
any way, and when I try opening it, Dolphin just freezes and hangs for a really
long time. While Dolphin is frozen and you force exit Dolphin and try to
reopen, it just wont.
I'm fairly new to Linux so I'm not really sure about everything.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Be connected to a VPN that has an SMB on that network (Preferably Wireguard)
2. Mount an SMB drive to etc/mnt/
3. The SMB Network drive should show up in the "Remote" entries on the left
panel.
4. Disconnect the VPN
5. Try opening the SMB Network drive
OBSERVED RESULT
Dolphin hangs for a really long time
EXPECTED RESULT
Dolphin should show that the drive is disconnected, and instead ask the user to
connect it somehow.
