Bug ID: 499577
Summary: [Feature request] Add an option to set the current
image as wallpaper
Classification: Applications
Product: gwenview
Version: 24.12.1
Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
I've used GwenView for a long time, and this is something I'm missing from
other image viewers. you cannot just right clic the image you're viewing, then
choose "set as wallpaper". that's something that a lot of image viewers have
already. you could even have a menu entry that goes like
set as wallpaper > desktop
> lock screen
> both
then ask if the image should be resized or adjusted, kinda like how windows
does with stretching, zooming etc, when choosing a wallpaper.
it's annoying to have to open an image, then go to the folder where it's
located, to just set it as wallpaper. you could even expand on this feature, to
use folders to create slideshow wallpapers, just like how plasma desktop offers
the option already, for a better desktop integration.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. open any image on gwenview
2. right click on the image/open the hamburger menu/use the global menu
3. there's no way to set the image as wallpaper.
EXPECTED RESULT
the app works, but doesn't have the feature I need.
