Bug ID: 499826
Summary: Night Color goes into infinite loop when trying to
determine location
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version: master
Platform: Mint (Ubuntu based)
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: critical
Priority: NOR
Component: Brightness and Color widget
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
Target Milestone: 1.0
SUMMARY
In setting of day and night colors the option for Sunrise and Sunset goes to
determine location.
Instead of using the setting ALREADY IN EXISTENCE IN THE OS, you appear to do
it yourself.
This process just continues running in an infinite loop without every finding
my location.
PLEASE NOTE: In the browser I have exposing location turned off.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Switch Linux Mint to KDE Plasma
2. Right click and Configure Display Settings
3. Choose Night Color and set for Sunset and sunrise at current location (the
location is set in the OS for Bogota, Colombia)
OBSERVED RESULT
The text Locating... is put up and a moving bar below that.
It never returns with my location. Did the idiot developer even test this???
EXPECTED RESULT
Use the OS and set to the location set in the OS at install time.
