Bug ID: 499832
Summary: Unplugging the headpones sets the mic volume to the
maximum level
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version: git-stable-Plasma/6.3
Platform: Ubuntu
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: Audio in general
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]

Target Milestone: 1.0
SUMMARY
Unplugging the headpones sets the mic volume to the maximum level.
Can this be a hardware related problem? Even if it is so, is it possible to
prevent this at software level?
Debugging the audio and asking for a fix for this specific driver is almost
impossible. An universal solution would be much better.
Hardware/driver/idk: Rapor Lake P/U/H cAVS Headphones Stereo microphone.
I do not know why it is called Headphones...something. It is the built in mic
if I know everything well.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Mute the mentioned microphone using the tray icon
2. Plug (in) the headphone (jack)
3. Unplug the headphone
OBSERVED RESULT
The microphone volume was set to the max. level
EXPECTED RESULT
The microphone volume remains at the previously set level.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
