STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. have several icons on desktop
2. try to select several icons at once using the mouse
3.
OBSERVED RESULT
frequently the selection is undone (and only 1 icon remains selected) when the
mouse button is released.

EXPECTED RESULT
we can select several icons on desktop at once with mouse consistently
