In Krita 5.2.9 under Windows (tested at 7680×2160 resolution with 125%
scaling), the UI element for adjusting the transparency background
(checkerboard) of the canvas is entirely missing:
- No icon or toggle in the bottom status bar
- No menu entry or option to configure transparency background
- No settings entry under Display or Canvas settings
- A full config reset (incl. kritarc) and the portable version do not restore
it
This makes it difficult to preview soft shadows or transparency blending
without manually adding a white background layer. The issue seems UI-related,
possibly DPI- or resolution-dependent.
Feature request:
- Restore the transparency background configuration (checkerboard size/color)
- Or add a fallback menu item if the status bar element is not rendered
