Fortunately, once I applied the shell script workaround mentioned in comment #83, it seem to fully prevent any occurrences of the issue. I'm now on Tumbleweed with Plasma 6.4.1 and Nvidia 570.169. I've reverted the workaround to see if the situation has improved. The problem seems to happen less often (once in two days).
