Bug ID: 507028
Summary: Add button to jump to last own message
Classification: Applications
Product: NeoChat
Version First 25.04.3
Reported In:
Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: General
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected], [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
due to the nature of chat apps like neochat sometimes people are
mid-conversation, step away for a minute while waiting for a reply, and come
back to find that the conversation they were having has been buried by some
other conversation. if the other person actually used replies it wont be too
hard to track their replies down, but sometimes they don't. It would be helpful
in cases like this to have a button that jumped to your own most recent
message, so you can easily check if anyone replied.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Not really applicable here
2.
3.
OBSERVED RESULT
The only way to go back to your most recent message in a given room is to
scroll up (which can sometimes take a while) or to click on a notification that
was somewhat close (which you may not always have available).
EXPECTED RESULT
There is a button that just takes you to your most recent message in that room.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
It would probably hurt legibility to place this where the "jump to last unread"
button goes bc this would have to just always be there. I think the top bar
might be the best place for it but that will be awkward too.
