            Bug ID: 507572
Summary: New Windows constantly getting in the way.
    Classification: Plasma
           Product: plasmashell
      Version First master
       Reported In:
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
                CC: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: 1.0

For several months now (I switched back to Plasma a little less than a year
ago, I don't know how long it's been going on) the windows open in the centre
of the screen.

I've been suffering from this bug since I came back (Plasma 6) and I thought
that something so silly would surely be fixed in a short time and that it
wasn't worth bothering the developers, but I see that it persists. You open any
program, and even though you have others on one half of the screen and empty
space on the other, Plasma puts it all over the middle, blocking everything,
getting in the way and interrupting the workflow. I seem to remember that
Plasma 5 respected the user and kindly placed new windows where there was the
most free space, getting in the way as little as possible.

Is this a bug or a ‘feature’, and if so, how can I revert to the old behaviour?
