Summary: Warn users *before* they submit bug reports for
unsupported versions

Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
Currently, Bug Janitor Service automatically closes bugs that are created by
users who submit a new bug with an outdated version number. There is no
indication on the form that this will happen which means users waste time
submitting bug reports that get auto-closed without a human seeing them. The
“bug reporting instructions” link says, buried halfway down the page, “please
don't file Bugzilla issues against a version of KDE Software that's more than a
year old”, but BJS is closing bugs on versions that were only released a few
weeks ago (any 6.3).
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start creating a new bug
2. Choose an old version number (currently, anything lower than 6.4, according
to BJS)
OBSERVED RESULT
Nothing on the page says not to submit the report, and the form allows it.
EXPECTED RESULT
At a minimum I believe there should be some warning on the bug submission page
that tells users not to submit bug reports for KDE versions older than X
because they will be automatically closed. The warning needs to show up
*before* the user submits their report to stop them from wasting time. It is no
use to hook only once the submit button has been pressed.
Best regards,
