I'd like to ask a few questions to narrow down what might be causing this. What appears on the screen when SDDM doesn't load? Do you see a mouse cursor at all or just a black screen? Does this happen if you try to log into a Wayland session or does it only happen with X11? Also, can you get journalctl logs beginning from the start of the login session and going until just after sddm fails to load?
