Bug ID: 508549
Summary: Make it possible to have the pointer over the
auto-hide panel's trigger
Classification: Plasma
Product: kwin
Version First 6.4.4
Reported In:
Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: wayland-generic
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
DESCRIPTION
The current condition is to have that trigger *pressed against* by the pointer
at X speed towards it.
But why not have the condition set that the pointer has to be *over* that
trigger at the same X speed? The touchpad/mouse mobility is not limited by
screen corners, so they can still exercise the required speed towards the
corner while the pointer is already over that trigger line.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have a panel set to auto-hide or dodge windows.
2. Move your pointer towards the hidden panel's corner without triggering it.
3. Move your pointer towards the hidden panel's corner after triggering it.
OBSERVED RESULT
The auto-hidden/dodge windows panel blocks an entire line of pixels.
The panel after being triggered allows the pointer to reach an entire line of
pixels.
EXPECTED RESULT
The trigger line should be hoverable, that would allow the pointer to access
the entire screen, especially with multiple auto-hide panels.
