            Bug ID: 508682
Summary: Screenshot resolution/quality is wrong/bad when
                    display scaling is below 100%
    Classification: Applications
           Product: Spectacle
      Version First 6.4.4
       Reported In:
          Platform: CachyOS
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: minor
          Priority: NOR
         Component: General
          Assignee: [email protected]

  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

I have my display scaling set to 50% on a 1080p screen. So essentially it's
rendering it as a 4K screen.

Everything is crisp and clear. I can read text perfectly, but then when I take
a screenshot with Spectacle, the resulting screenshot resolution is 1080p and
not 4K. And the quality on the screenshot is horrible.

As an example, on my actual display, I can read text perfectly without any
issues, but then on the screenshot, it's extremely pixelated.

I have my Image Saving settings in Spectacle set to be PNG. So I would assume
quality would be on parr with what I'm seeing, but it's much worse on the
screenshot than what it actually is on my screen.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Plug in a 1080p 27" Monitor
2. Set Scale to 50%
3. Set Font Size to 23pt
4. Take a screenshot

OBSERVED RESULT
Screenshot's quality is much worse than what I'm seeing on my screen.

EXPECTED RESULT
Screenshot's quality to be on parr with what I'm seeing on my screen.
