What keyboard layout are you using?
Can you try enabling all logging and share the output? In a terminal, do the
following:
can you try enabling all logging by doing:
export QT_LOGGING_RULES="*=true"
kate -b -n &> logs
Then reproduce the issue and quit kate. There will be a file "logs" which might
help understand whats happening.
