Bug ID: 509206
Summary: The never ending bug
Classification: KDE Neon
Product: neon
Version First unspecified

Platform: KDE Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: grave
Priority: NOR
Component: general

Target Milestone: ---
Five bugs have been written and closed out as being RESOLVED UPSTREAM for this
issue, yet this same exact problem still persists. For details about this
issue, view bugs 509155, 509168, 509196, 509200, and for the bug that exactly
describes my issue, view bug 509152.
Twice I downloaded and installed KDE Neon, and every time the issue repeats.
It's been like this for a week now. Unlike the previous bugs reports, I did one
extra thing by typing "sudo pkcon update" and the info I got was that it was
downloading, but it would take 14 hours at 10kb to download. This means two
things: KDE Discover is giving a fake error message about being unable to
download the System Update because the update isn't available yet, or pkcon is
giving fake downloading info that the download has been throttled and therefore
this is not a sync issue.
Please look into this issue and make sure you understand the issue and can
reproduce it before saying it has been "resolved". I was thinking of switching
over to KDE Neon because KDE Plasma has a great reputation (and the integrated
kFind is the best search app ever), but this issue might cause me to rethink
what I think about KDE and their reputation. This is a new install that I am
testing on another computer, and right out-of-the-box, it hasn't worked from
day one.
