Bug ID: 509464
Summary: Plasma should provide an easy way to open its user
manual on KDE Linux
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version First 6.4.5
Reported In:
Platform: KDE Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
Target Milestone: 1.0
SUMMARY
Filing this as a spin-off of
https://invent.kde.org/kde-linux/kde-linux/-/issues/169#note_1302269.
* In most distros, one can go to the “Help” section in Kickoff and launch “Help
Center”. It's not the most visually noticeable location now that Kickoff has
switched to monochrome icons, but it makes sense logically.
* For KDE Linux, the decision was that KHelpCenter is not going to be
preinstalled. Instead, there will be online documentation on
https://docs.kde.org/. This means that there is currently no way to reach the
user manual from the desktop easily.
There should probably be a `.desktop` shortcut in Kickoff that opens the
correct section of https://docs.kde.org/ in the configured web browser.
