SUMMARY
kde 6.4.90 has issues with chrome's unstable hdr support
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. install kde 6.4.90 (6.5 beta)
2. install chrome with
https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/c/chromium/src/+/6771393/1 such as
AUR's google-chrome-dev
3. launch chrome with
--enable-features=AcceleratedVideoDecodeLinuxZeroCopyGL,AcceleratedVideoDecodeLinuxGL,AcceleratedVideoEncoder,WaylandWpColorManagerV1
OBSERVED RESULT
colors are incorrect, "background: black" in css shows as dark gray instead of
black, hdr content with peak brightness exceeding sdr brightness still caps at
sdr white
EXPECTED RESULT
colors should show as expected, "background: black" in css should show as
black, hdr content should be able to exceed sdr white
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
note: the following versions are from kinfo after downgrading back to 6.4.5,
using kde-unstable repository with kde 6.4.90 shows the issue.
