Bug ID: 509270
Summary: Custom tiled windows are sometimes incorrectly
re-tiled
Classification: Plasma
Product: kwin
Version First 6.4.4
Reported In:
Platform: Solus
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: Quick Tiling
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
Some custom tiled windows are incorrectly re-tiled when switching virtual
desktops, or when other windows are minimized
Setup
Have at least two virtual desktops
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
This can be reproduced with a single display
1. Open Kate and KWrite
2. Tile Kate to the left third with a shortcut (custom tiling via the Mudeer
plugin)
3. Tile KWrite to middle third with a shortcut
4. Switch to another virtual desktop, and then back
OBSERVED RESULT
Kate retains its tiling
KWrite is tiled on the right half, rather than how it had been sized / tiled
EXPECTED RESULT
Window size and tiling is unchanged
Another way to reproduce:
This I cannot trigger on a single display, only when I have my laptop docked
and connected to an external monitor
1. Open two Firefox windows
2. Custom tile one to the left third
3. Custom tile the other to the middle third
4. Minimize one of the two windows
OBSERVED RESULT
The non-minimized window tiles to take up half the screen
