We will be able to keep the document list but the rest of the session will get wiped out. This is because how we save sessions i.e., we wipe old session data, and then save the session to avoid accumulating outdated entries/data in the session. If the session saving is done too late e.g., after the mainwindows are gone then there won't be anything left to save and on next start the session will be empty.
