Hello, it seems I'm a little late to join the party. I'm also experiencing this
bug, the desktop is super fast after reboot, but after several days this issue
becomes more and more visible. It definitely accumulates over time and it can
make the desktop totally unusable after a week. The freeze can take several
seconds. If you keep the "Alt" pressed during the freeze and the task switcher
finally opens, pressing another "Tab" makes another freeze, so it is not
related to opening of the thumbnails list, but to the switch action itself.

I can also confirm, that turning off the "Show selected windows" workarounds
the issue immediately, but turning the "Show selected windows" back on without
reboot resumes the issue.

I'm on KDE neon User edition, pretty much default setup with Wayland.
KDE Plasma 6.4.4
AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS
AMD Radeon 780M

I'm using both Wine and Proton, so Xwayland is in use.
