i did it 'the old way' previously (i was looking for just a clock-widget
restart, search results indicated plasmashell restart):

    kquitapp6 plasmashell
    nohup plasmashell --replace >/dev/null 2>&1 &

and it gets unstuck/shows the current time, but did not update the clock
afterwards.
I also logged off/on with the same effect: clock hangs, no time-updates

Using `systemctl restart --user plasma-plasmashell.service` right now restarted
the clock: it shows the current time and(!) it advances the display (seconds in
popup are updating).
Which is strange.. why is it doing what it should right now?

Any logs i can provide for this?

And no, no nvidia - never again :-) on a laptop
