Summary: Certain videos interrupt playback loop when
auto-played from playlist
Classification: Applications
Product: Haruna
Version First 1.5.0
Reported In:
Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR

the offending video
SUMMARY
The attached video works fine when it is the first thing Haruna plays after
launching, but if encountered through the playlist, it will very often (not
always) pause the playback until manually resumed, despite looping playlist
settings.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Place the attached video in a folder with no other files.
2. Play the video in Haruna.
3. Ensure the playlist is in specifically "Repeat Playlist" mode.
4. Let the video loop until it stops.
OBSERVED RESULT
Playback pauses.
EXPECTED RESULT
Playback loops until interrupted by user.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Linux hostname 6.16.10-arch1-1 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Thu, 02
Oct 2025 19:26:36 +0000 x86_64 GNU/Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 6.4.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.18.0
Qt Version: 6.9.2
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Curiously, the playlist mode "Repeat item" works as expected. I have multiple
videos with this characteristic, but they have nothing obvious in common
(with/without audio, different codecs, containers, durations... no obvious red
flag in ffprobe). The included video is truncated to fit into the 4mb limit and
has the audio stream removed, neither of which changed its behaviour.
