            Bug ID: 510442
Summary: Separate inline renaming activation by clicking from
it being turned off as Folder view dows
    Classification: Applications
           Product: dolphin
      Version First 25.04.3
       Reported In:
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: view-engine: general
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
                CC: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

This is more of a feature request:

Folder view has a checkbox setting (Icons tab) "Rename inline by clicking
selected item's text". That turns off selecting inline renaming by clicking the
text under the file/folder icon, but still renames inline when pressing F2 or
selecting rename in the menu. Not sure if it is intentional but I love it.

Dolphin does not have this setting. It only allows turning inlined renaming
off, but not turning it off just by double clicking the text.

Why am I requesting this: quite often, I click the text by mistake when I mean
to open the file instead. However, find dialog for renaming confusing, as I do
not know wher it will open and is just visually and cognitively distracting for
me.
