But I'm afraid I can't help you because the proper setup procedure on Kubuntu is something I don't know, either. It's a shame the didn't set all of this up automatically. That's one of their jobs. Given this part of the system being misconfigured, we can't rule out that another misconfiguration is causing the underlying issue itself. At this point, I would recommend reaching out to them personally to ask for help with this issue. If that proves impossible, there's always the nuclear option of switching to a distro that offers a higher level of integration and support.
