Bug ID: 511032
Summary: Global Flatpak Permission Settings
Classification: Applications
Product: systemsettings
Version First unspecified
Reported In:
Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: kcm_flatpak
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
The application permission page in system settings is missing an option to
configure global Flatpak settings, which are located at
~/.local/share/flatpak/overrides/global
This is a feature present in Flatseal and should be part of Plasma's settings
for it to be feature complete.
There should definitely be a warning message at the top of the page that
anything allowed there will be applied to ALL Flatpak apps and that caution is
highly advised (only mess here when you know what you're doing), but it would
give such power to the users who have a use case for it.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Go to System Settings - Application Permissions
2. Take a look around.
OBSERVED RESULT
There's no section to edit global Flatpak overrides.
EXPECTED RESULT
There should be a GUI section to configure global Flatpak permissions.
I would likely imagine a button above the search bar for the list of
applications called "Global Flatpak Permissions".
