Bug ID: 511194
Summary: App windows refusing to render after wake
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version First 6.5.0
Reported In:
Platform: EndeavourOS
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: Activities in general
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
Target Milestone: 1.0
SUMMARY
Fullscreen windows refuse to render after waking the computer. the window is
active and functiona (as i can play/pause a video on zen browser) but the app
itself is not visible. this is not an app specific issue as ive had this happen
on okular as well. the fix is usually closing and reopening the app
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. open any fullscreen app (in my case zen browser and okular)
2. let the computer suspend or otherwise sleep for a considerable period of
time (5-10 mins)
3. wake the computer or on my case a laptop
{attention: this is not a surefire way to reproduce the bug as the shell
responds as intended most of the time. its a hard bug to reproduce but when it
happens its very annoying}
OBSERVED RESULT
After the unlocking prompt user will be greeted by their wallpaper instead of
the previously fullscreened app. the app itself is running and is the active
window as suggested by the icons only task manager but the window itself is
completely transparent/ refusing to render in the shell.
EXPECTED RESULT
the user should be greeted by their previously fullscreened app instead of
their wallpaper and expect to pick up where they left off
