An update to the issue: After Fedora updated the rpm package (now on Amarok 3.3.1) it indeed does show remote devices and allows to play music directly from it with no issues (native package, not flatpack!). (on recent androids - v14 - it works, apparently, flawlessly. Android 8.1 does work very slowly, but i don't believe it's relevant considering it's a very old system with support soon to be discontinued) If Tuomas agrees, I believe the issue can be closed!
