SUMMARY
After doing a clean install of Fedora KDE and updating and rebooting, i can no
longer use the native resolution (5120x1440) of my monitor (Samsung
LS49A950UIPXEN). I am able to see the boot logo and enter my encryption
passphrase, but afterwards I only a grey screen. Can't even switch to tty. I
have to physically change my monitor setting to displayport 1.1 for it to work,
but then i only get 3840x1080 and blurry text.
Installing lightdm and replacing it with sddm actually lets me see the login
screen as it should, but after entering my password the same issue appears
again. I also tried the latest GNOME and the issue was not present.
Downgrading kwin fixes it. I ran the command "sudo dnf downgrade kwin
--allowerasing". The downgraded version is 6.3.4. I realize it also downgrades
a lot of dependency packages to kwin.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use ultrawide monitor with 5120x1440 resolution
2. Install clean Fedora KDE
3. Update system (dnf upgrade -y --refresh)
4. Reboot
OBSERVED RESULT
No display after inital boot logo
EXPECTED RESULT
Display log in screen and able to log in
