There’s no right or wrong! :) That’s why adding new options in the settings to adjust the behavior as desired makes sense. It doesn’t really matter what other file managers do, after all, because we already have our own expectations for how it should work. And judging by the length of this and other discussions, it seems everyone has a valid perspective.
