Bug ID: 511823
Summary: Mouse cursor lags when hovering over icon-changing
elements
Classification: Plasma
Product: kwin
Version First 6.5.80
Reported In:
Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: core
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
After upgrading from Plasma 6.4.5 to 6.5.2, any event that changes mouse cursor
results in cursor lag: when hovering over the button (which changes regular
cursor to the hand with the finger), the cursor is freezed for several
milliseconds (not moving), and only then it is positioned to where it has been
moved with the new icon.
This usually happens only first several times, after which the lag is gone for
some time.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Run Plasma 6.5.2 on Fedora 43
2. Hover over any element which changes mouse cursor in any software
3. Get the cursor lag
OBSERVED RESULT
Visible lag (absent of mouse movement) of several milliseconds when hovering
over mouse-icon-changing elements.
EXPECTED RESULT
No visible lag, as it was in Plasma 6.4
